Setlists are a bit meh

The St Anger tour setlists were better - only 2 or 3 songs from St Anger, and the rest were mostly classics

As if a band with Metallica's catalogue can't give it more variety. That's pathetic.

they have never been any different though, they have a core set which starts/ends the same and interchange songs at various points of the set. Not a big deal, they tend to have a lot more production than say the band you :wank: way too much over ( ;) ) and don't have the freedom to change up the setlist like said band does

They need to cut out a bit more of the new shit. They seem to like it too much to do that though. At least with St Anger they were well aware it was shit and they shouldn't play it very often.

A fair point. I just think it's lazy.

well, with the st anger the backlash was unanimous. Most Metallica fans are generally into Death Magnetic, so it's hardly a surprise to see it feature prominently just like after every other album release.

It is totally. to be fair to them though, the rotation in the parts they do change is far better than it has ever been.

I saw them in the round two nights in a row in Copenhagen in June. I wasn't sure what to expect as I'd never seen anything like it before. It worked brilliantly. James, Kirk and Rob spread themselves out and circle the stage most of the show while Lars drumkit rotates on intervals.

Every aspect of these shows were flawless down to the pyro show and laser work as you would expect - you can really appreciate the time and effort that goes into preparing the stage set when it's in front of your eyes.

The DM material works well live - from the two sets I saw they played probably 3-4 songs from DM each night which I wouldnt call too much at all.

Nothing like some explosions and lasers to distract you from the shitty music.
